Lumbee Tribe Scholarship Information
-The Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina will be awarding scholarships to current college students enrolled for next semester and entering freshman. Applications will be competitive. Scholarships will be awarded to students attending a technical, two or four-year college, or university.
-Application must be complete, (Incomplete applications will be discarded)
-Open dates - May 1-31, 2022
-Must have a minimum of a 2.5 grade-point-average (GPA)
-Must be an active member of the Lumbee Tribe
- Applicants must be tribally enrolled with an active membership and must also provide their tribal enrollment number on the application (a copy of tribal card must be included).
-Submit a current official transcript and postmarked no later than the deadline date. Current official transcripts may also be sent via e-transcripts
-List high school or college activities, awards, honors, extra- curricular activities, and church and community involvement
-May consider Native American culture as farming, gardening, dance, art, writing projects, programs
-Essay - explaining financial need, career choice, goals, and impact of your decisions
-Applicants may apply annually
