Mission Statement
The mission of The Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina’s Agriculture and Natural Resources Department is to steward Lumbee lands and waters by honoring our ancestors and their traditions, strengthening our existing farm community by advocating for Lumbee agricultural opportunities and promoting tribal food sovereignty.

Current Focus Areas/ Services

Facilitate advocacy, networking, business assistance, educational opportunities, and training for our Native producers.

Survey our Native producers located throughout tribal territory to fully understand our current resources and needs within our tribal food system.

Strengthen existing efforts to defend and protect our land, air, water, and other natural resources from pollution, climate change, and unsustainable development.

Serve as a resource for Native producers.
