Fishing Returns to the Cultural Center Lake: Monday July 8, 2024
Like many of our elders Mr. Herman Locklear, shown here with his great-grandson Nicolas, is thrilled to see the lake reopen. Mr. Herman and his brother have helped with the restocking process by catching shell cracker bream and other fish in the spillway and walking them over to the lake over the past 2 years. Mr. Herman has been fishing in the area of the Little Juniper or in the Cultural Center Lake for more than 50 years and since there was a wooden bridge. He is 82 years old. He also helped cut trees out of Cultural Center Lake when the project began.
Happy Homecoming!
