Major Keyla Bell on her promotion to the rank of major in the North Carolina State Highway Patrol

Congratulations to Major Keyla Bell on her promotion to the rank of major in the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. Keyla was promoted in November 2021. Her family honored her this weekend with a promotion party in Pembroke. She is the highest-ranking American Indian State Trooper in the State of North Carolina. Keyla is serving her 25th year with the NCSHP.

Keyla is from the Red Springs Community and is a 1997 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She was promoted to Captain in 2019. Keyla is an enrolled member of the Lumbee Tribe of N.C.
