Historic Marker Unveiling at Buie Mound Information

Mark your calendar for the dedication ceremony for the historic marker that will be placed at Buie Mound on Saturday, April 27, 2024. The unveiling will be at 11 am. The marker will be placed at the intersection of Highway 710 and Highway 72. Dating back thousands of years, Buie Mound has long been a sacred place for American Indians. A reception will follow at 12:30 pm at the Museum of the Southeast American Indian, on the campus of UNC Pembroke. A panel discussion on "Mound Builders of Robeson County: Archaeology & Ancient Landscapes" will follow at 2 pm. Parking for the historic marker unveiling will be at Jepp's Farm.
