Thank you to the Kenan Institute at UNC Chapel Hill & NCGrowth for providing one of our tribal citizens, Patrick Dial, the opportunity to showcase southern cuisine, that features his Lumbee Tribe’s heritage and family traditions. Dial prepared collard wraps, pork barbecue, chicken and pastry, noodle stew, turnip soup with cornbread dumplings, traditional southern chicken salad, as well as chocolate and red velvet cake.
The event, NCGrowth’s ‘Engaging for Economic Prosperity,’ featured discussions regarding partnerships between NCGrowth, UNC Chapel Hill, Fayetteville State University, and many others. Chris Clemens, Provost and Chief Academic Officer UNC CH, and Mary Margaret Frank, Dean of the Kenan Flagler Business School, as well as FSU’s Chancellor Darrell T. Allison, and NCGrowth Executive Director Mark Gabriel Little were among those that spoke during the event.
