2019 Veteran Stand Down

Saturday, our veterans were able to access many of the different services at the Lumbee Tribe Veterans Stand Down and Community Job Fair. Services such as food, clothing, health screenings, VA and Social Security benefits counseling, and referrals to a variety of other necessary services, such as housing, employment, and substance abuse treatment were available for veterans.

Veterans and their services to our country were highlighted and applauded throughout the program. Speakers included: Chairman Harvey Godwin, Jr., Speaker Ricky Burnett, Tribal Councilman for District 13, Raymond Hunt, Disabled Veterans Outreach Program Specialist, Susan Deckant, VA Outreach Specialist, Col (Ret) Mark Edmonds, Chief Operating Officer, Mike Dorman, Military Missions in Action, Paul Berry, USO, Jay Chastain, National NA Veterans Memorial Advisor, Carla McRae, HUS-VASH Coordinator, Toy Burgess, VA Social Worker, and John Lowery, Regional Operations Director.
