The summer is winding down. We are celebrating a great summer spent with our Lumbee children and young people. We celebrated with a mini-powwow for our children on Thursday. This week, we say thank you and wish our college students the best as they prepare to head back to campus. To celebrate our Energy team, the Lumbee Tribe Energy department held a College Student Appreciation day for our students who have worked in the Energy Department throughout the summer. Jana Locklear, Zach Scott, Fallon Chavis, and Kaitlyn Locklear began work with us in May. They helped process over 4,000 applications with the LIHCAP Cooling program. We thank them for all their hard work this summer and wish them well in their coming school year.
