Appointment Description:
The North Carolina Commission of Indian Affairs serves as an advisory body to the Governor and the North Carolina General Assembly on issues impacting American Indian communities across the state. The appointed representative will advocate for the interests of the Lumbee Tribe, participate in meetings, and collaborate with other tribal representatives and state officials on policy, education, economic development, and cultural preservation initiatives.
Appointment Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Must be an active enrolled member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina
Must be in good standing with the Tribe
Must demonstrate an interest in public service, advocacy, and community engagement
Must be able to attend scheduled meetings and represent the Tribe at the state level
Must meet any additional qualifications required by State law or Tribal policy & law
