Chairman John L. Lowery and Travis Bryant were speakers at Pemb. Area Chamber of Commerce Meeting
Lumbee Tribal Chairman John L. Lowery and Travis Bryant, Executive Director of Lumbee Regional Development Association were the guest speakers today at the Pembroke Area Chamber of Commerce Membership Meeting. The meeting was held at the Lumbee Tribe Boys & Girls Club. Chairman Lowery discussed housing growth that would be visible in the Pembroke area over the next 2-3 years on Candy Park Lane and collaborations with the Town of Pembroke. He also discussed the Cultural Center expansion with new basketball goals, development of a volleyball court, amphitheater renovations with new stadium seating and the projected fishing date for the Cultural Center Lake. He also stressed the importance of how the Lumbee Tribe Cultural Center is steadily becoming more of a tourist attraction and destination for our people.
Travis Bryant discussed homecoming events which are coming up over the next two weeks. He shared that this year, the event lineup is expanded and will also include a wing competition and partnerships with local businesses.
The Pembroke Area Chamber of Commerce and the Pembroke Chamber Foundation also presented 4 scholarships to Robeson County High School Seniors.
