Breast Cancer has impacted almost everyone in our tribal family. Are you doing routine preventive screenings? Are we eating healthier? Are we exercising weekly to be the best for our families?


Statistics state that one in eight women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in her lifetime. A man’s risk is much lower, but about 1 in 833 men will get breast cancer in his lifetime.


Senior Ms. Lumbee Wendy Chavis - Locklear shares how God has been her Provider through her recent breast cancer diagnosis. We hope all of our Lumbee Tribal citizens will take time to think about their health. Sometimes, genetics can take charge, but we can play a key role daily in better health! One day at a time.
