Tribal Member Receives Rehab Assistance

Ms. Annie Hunt is a resident of District 14 and is represented by Tribal Councilwoman Barbara Lowery. Ms. Hunt's home was damaged by standing water left in the wake of 2016's Hurricane Matthew. Funding received by the Tribe under the Essential Single-Family Rehabilitation Loan Pool-Disaster Recovery through the NC Housing Finance Agency will allow her to have needed repairs done to her roof and floors. Ms. Lowery is looking forward to having these repairs completed and said she is "excited" to know that the work will soon be underway. She is shown signing the contract after careful explanation of the document was given by Rehab Secretary/File Clerk Nicole Dial. The gentleman signing is the contractor on the job, Mr. Mark Cummings of Lumber River Quality Building. Other Tribal members on hand to finalize the pre-inspections and contracts are Ms. Marbeth Pevia, Contractor Payable Specialist; David Locklear, Rehab Inspector; Sam Bird, Rehab Inspector, and Anthony Pevia, Rehab Coordinator.
