We Still Believe

Dir of Housing Services, recently presented at NC Dep Public Instit.'s NC Homeless Education Program

Bradley Locklear, Director of Housing Services, recently presented to the NC Department of Public Instruction's NC Homeless Education Program's Learning Institute at the three-day Learning Academy held at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Locklear met with Homeless Prevention Liaisons, School Social Workers, and Social Services Program Directors to explain and detail the services that the Lumbee Tribe of NC offers to its members to prevent homelessness and promote housing stability.


Shaneitha Lee-Nance, pictured, works with the Public Schools of Robeson County (PSRC). She is a tribal member and the niece of a former tribal councilman, Ricky Burnett. She is also the current McKinney Vento Liaison that works with students, in PSRC, who are facing or experiencing homelessness. She has worked with the tribe to help families get rental or mortgage assistance as well as transitional housing, preventing them from becoming homeless.
