Congratulations to all of our Lumbee award winners who received awards, scholarships or recognition at the United Tribes of North Carolina 2023 Unity Conference this weekend. Mr. Dwayne Hunt was the Lumbee Veteran recognized for military service. He served in the United States Army - Sergeant First Class in Afghanistan .

Congratulations to Dr. Jo Ann Chavis Lowery who was recognized with the United Tribes Distinguished Service to the Indian Community Award as well as Kaylee Chavis who received the Distinguished American Indian High School award. A number of our Lumbee students also receive scholarships which included Natalie Evington, Hallie Scott, Ava Jacobs, Kaylee Chavis, Lahna Sampson, Jayla Locklear, Jayda Smith, Nathanaeal Jones, Hannah Locklear, Brice Chavis, Katerina Lesane, Kelly Locklear and Ayden Sky Bullard.

Congratulations to children and staff who submitted their artwork during the art show. We also had a number of Lumbee Tribal staff that participated in panels as well as presentations on housing.
