A delegation from the Lumbee Tribe attended the National Congress of American Indian (NCAI) Mid-Year conference in the homelands of the Pequot Nation. Council members Gerald Goolsby, Homer Fields, Pam Hunt, Tribal Chairman John Lowery, and Housing Services Director Bradley Locklear attended on behalf of the Tribe.
The delegation heard updates from tribal leaders about numerous items and attended breakout sessions around housing, energy, health care, and tourism. Chairman Lowery also met with Pequot Chairman Rodney Butler, Councilwoman Michele Scott, Councilman Danny Menihan, and General Counsel Jody Cummings to discuss future youth exchanges with our Lumbee Boys & Girls Clubs and other areas of interest.
