This week, staff from the Catawba Nation visited the Lumbee Tribe Agriculture and Natural Resources Department. The Lumbee Tribe and the Catawba Nation have been working to collaborate and develop ways to create indigenous foodways between the two tribes. Press Release Lumbee Tribe LIHEAP Energy Program Application Period Moved to January Pembroke, NC (October 20, 2025) – The Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina Department of Energy will now accept applications for the Heating Assistance Program (HAP) from January 5, 2026 through January 30, 2026. The department staff was scheduled to begin receiving applications on November 3rd, but due to the government shutdown the program needed to be pushed back. LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy
