We would like to thank the NC Department of Transportation for meeting this week with our Lumbee Tribe Agriculture and Natural Resources Department and the Cultural Center team to kick off a new partnership initiative to incorporate wildflower plots throughout the Lumbee Tribe Culture Center. These wildflower plantings will serve many uses including beautification, increased pollination in our community gardens and forested areas, support diverse ecosystems and re-establish populations of pollinating insects and wildlife. These plantings also continue our goal to expand and steward the lands of our people.

Prices are $2 for an active Tribal Card and $3 without a Tribal Card (Cash only). The Aquatic Center is at the Lumbee Tribe Cultural Center on Terry Sanford Drive in Maxton, NC. Thank you to everyone who came out this evening for the District 6 Community Meeting at Berea Baptist Church in Pembroke. The event was hosted by Councilman Larry Chavis. Chairman Lowery and the Lumbee Tribal Staff talked with our citizens and community members about issues ranging from housing and construction development that is underway, federal recognition updates, the tribal budget, new initiatives by the Health department, collaboratives with Agriculture and Natural Resources, summer camps and up and coming events.

General Assembly Park in Raleigh today. It was a wonderful time with our Lumbee Citizens to fellowship with our lawmakers and friends in the North Carolina General Assembly. From our Lumbee artisans to the Lumbee food favorites, it was a great time.
