The Real Estate Department is responsible for protecting and maintaining the value of tribally owned land, housing, and facilities. The Real Estate Department oversees the management of all mortgage accounts, short-term transitional housing, and all facility rental agreements and scheduling.
Transitional Housing
The Housing Department provides short-term housing for tribal members who, due to an unforeseeable emergency, have had their current dwelling destroyed or the dwelling is unsafe or uninhabitable. The Housing Department provides fully furnished housing to eligible tribal members at no cost (no charges for rent or utilities) for 90 days. Housing is limited, and tribal members are served on a first-come, first-served basis.
Transitional Housing Checklist:
1. Copy of applicant’s current tribal enrollment card
2. Copy of applicant’s picture identification
3. Copy of social security cards for all household members
4. Copy of birth certificates for all household members age 16 or older
5. Proof of income for all household members
6. Copy of bank statements for all household members
7. Copy of fire report (if applicable) or other proof that home is uninhabitable
8. Proof of all assets (title or registration of vehicles, motorcycles, boats, etc.)
9. Criminal record check (will be done in office for anyone age 16 and older)
Community Facility Rentals
The Housing Department offers rental space for private events. Our diverse venues are perfect for celebrations, meetings, reunions, church events, conferences, and parties. Renter must be at least 21 years of age and an enrolled member of the Lumbee Tribe.
Rental Fee: $325.00 ($100 refundable deposit + $225.00 service fee)
