Local Veteran Donates Missing Man Table Kit to Bring Awareness to Soldiers Who Didn’t Return Home

This week, people all across the nation will remember Veterans who served in Vietnam on Wednesday on National Vietnam War Veterans Day. Thank you to Veteran Kris Carter for donating a “Missing Man Table” kit to the Lumbee Veterans Office in Pembroke, which will be a special way to remember everyday each soldier who didn’t return home from war. The tables are often seen in surrounding counties at businesses and churches. Whitney Bell, Administrator for the NC State Veterans Home in Fayetteville, delivered the table kit and set it up at the Lumbee Tribe Veterans Office. Each item on the “Missing Man Table" is symbolic of the soldier who didn’t return home. Veteran Kris Carter is from the Saddletree Community and he served in the Army in Iraq and Bosnia.
