A Very Lumbee Fairtytale

The Boys and Girls Club of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina hosted their annual musical titled A Very Lumbee Fairytale on Thursday evening. The musical was held at Berea Baptist Church located in Pembroke, NC. The musical was directed and choreographed by Hunter Rigsby.

Hunter Rigsby is a State Employees Credit Union (SECU) Intern who has interned with the Boys and Girls Club of the Lumbee Tribe for the past two summer terms. She is currently a student at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and will graduate in the upcoming spring semester.

Dr. Rose Marie Lowry- Townsend showed much appreciation in the children’s performance and stated how the kids look forward to performing their musical each year. Dr. Townsend also commended Ms. Hunter Rigsby for her diligence and passion that she has shown to the youth within the Boys and Girls Club.

There are currently seven Boys and Girls Club of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina. All were represented in the play.
