Bio: Al Locklear’s greatest strengths are his creativity, drive and leadership.He thrives on challenges, particularly those that expand the company’s reach and his ability to think outside the box to come up long term solutions for long term problems has made him sought after for advice and knowledge.
In 2007, Mr. Locklear was recognized with the Business Person of the Year Award by the National Hardware Association for outstanding achievement sales growth and his insight on national advertising. Other honors include being nominated for the prestigious Ace Retailer of the Year Award and being named one of the Who’s Who in Small Business publications.
Mr. Locklear has held positions as past Chairman of the Robeson County Partnership for Children, President of the Kiwanis of Robeson and served as Chair of the Economic Development Committee of the Lumbee Tribe from 2002-2006 He has also served on the Governor’s Economic Advisory Board, and is a current Commissioner for the North Carolina Housing Authority, in which he serves as Treasurer.
Mr. Locklear attended high school in Hope Mills, NC at South View Senior High School. His secondary education was spent in attendance at UNC-Pembroke, and Campbell University at Buies Creek, NC with a major in Chemistry.
