The Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina's Down Payment Assistance Program accepts applications Monday through Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

To apply for the Down Payment Assistance Program, the applicant:

• Must have already obtained a loan from a financial institution;
• Must not have a monthly debt-to-income ratio greater than 40% of their combined monthly gross household income;
• Must be a first time homebuyer; and
• Must have an approved criminal record.

The applicant may not have also obtained prior housing assistance from the Lumbee Tribe or any other governmental housing agency for construction of a new house, and they must agree to use the home to be purchased with the down payment assistance monies as their primary residence during the term of the down payment assistance program agreement.
