1. Where do I find out more information about federal recognition?

2. How do I enroll in the Lumbee Tribe?
A) Applications are available on this site (click
here) or available by calling 910.521.2843. You must complete an application
to enroll in the Tribe. Once you receive the application, fill out completely
and call the Tribal Office and schedule an appointment. Do not mail back
your application, or it will be sent back for you to hold until your appointment.
3. Who is my tribal council representative?

4. Where are the tribal administrative offices?
A) The Tribal Office is located at 707 Union Chapel Road in Pembroke,
NC 28372.
5. How do I get a replacement tribal enrollment card?
A) Replacement cards for current enrolled members are issued on
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.. Enrolled
members need to bring the following for re-certification: old enrollment
card, a driver's license or picture identification, and a birth certificate.
6. If I do not get my new card, will my name be taken
off the rolls?
A) No, all members who reside within the tribal territory have
7 years to update their information on the Tribal Rolls or they are placed
on an inactive list. Your name will still be on the rolls, you
just will not be identified as an active member, therefore you will not
be eligible for any services until your information is updated.
Members outside the tribal territory are treated the same except they
must update their information in 5 years. Click here

7. Do we have to give up our old card?
A) No, it is yours to keep.
8. Why do we have to pay $5?
A) The card is optional, but the $5 charge only covers the cost
of the supplies and equipment. A verification form can be obtained in
lieu of the tribal identification card.
9. Does the tribe provide educational assistance?
A) The Lumbee Tribe annually organizes an educational fundraiser
that provides
scholarship opportunities to Tribal Members. The applicant must be an
enrolled Tribal Member of the Lumbee Tribe and be admitted to an educational
program. Applications are not currently being accepted.
10. What is the tribal territory?
A) The tribal territory consists of Robeson, Hoke, Cumberland, and
Scotland counties in the state of North Carolina.
