The Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina is seeking an energetic, well-disciplined individual with a record of proven demonstrative leadership skills to assume the very important position of full-time Tribal Administrator. The Tribal Administrator will work under the direction of, and closely with, the Tribal Chairman in organizing, implementing, and directing programs, policies, and directives established by the Lumbee Tribal Council.
This individual will be required to effectively communicate with Lumbee Tribal Council, Tribal Staff and the Lumbee Tribal Membership. A proven ability to effectively analyze issues and to identify potential conflicts and respond decisively with the most sensitive inquiries and complaints is a must. Major responsibility will include supervision of the administration for the NAHASDA housing program as well as all other tribal programs.
Qualified applicants should possess a strong background in management, strategic planning, finance, program/grant and budget compliance and a working knowledge of the Lumbee Constitution with at least a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) in Business or Public Administration, or a closely related field, with a minimum of ten (10) years executive management experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Lumbee Tribe of NC has an employment opportunity for a Housing Specialist. Under the direct supervision of the Housing Manager, the Housing Specialist will assist Housing Program Staff in providing a sound-counseling program for all applicants for New Homeownership, Down payment Assistance, Section 184 Loan Program and other home assistance services. The Housing Specialist will assist in promoting awareness of the Lumbee Tribal Homeownership programs, policies and procedures through counseling to prospective homebuyers, homeowners and applicants for homeowner assistance. The Housing Specialist will assist housing staff in arranging orientation and homebuyer and homeowner workshops with external agencies and organizations and resource persons to facilitate homebuyer and homeowner assistance, and other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Incumbent should possess a college degree in counseling, social work, human services, or a related field. A high school diploma and a minimum of five years successful experience in tribal programs, community based programs or educational outreach working with the public, equivalent to the above qualifications will be considered. Applicants must possess good communication skills, the ability to relate to diverse populations, and possess general office and clerical skills. Applicants must hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel within the service area of Robeson, Hoke, Cumberland and Scotland Counties.
