LUMBEE TRIBE OF NORTH CAROLINA TOBACCO PREVENTION AND CESSATION PROJECT
WELCOME!
Thank you for your interest in the Lumbee Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Project. Congratulations on taking the first step to improving the health of Lumbee people by advocating policies that promote wellness and educating your community to reduce the impact of tobacco.
Manager, April Carter-Bryant

The Indigenous People of Central N.C. present the first tribal tobacco initiative serving Hoke, Robeson, Cumberland, and Scotland Counties.
The Lumbee Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Project (LTPCP) is designed to enhance and increase awareness of the health risks and diseases related to tobacco use.
Tobacco addiction rates of American Indian and Alaskan Natives are the highest among all populations. The LTPCP will train youth to initiate policy change, create tobacco free events, and re-introduce the traditional and medicinal uses of tobacco.
The LTPCP honors tribal youth as visionaries and change agents. Tribal youth will combat tobacco addiction and honor traditional teachings of our medicinal plant - Tobacco.
