Lumbee Energy Office for Low Income Families

  • LIHEAP - provides families and individuals a one-time cash payment to help pay heating bills.
  • CIP - The goal of the CIP program is to help families stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer, for persons especially at risk for life threatening illness of death if their home is too cold in the winter or too hot in the summer

Office of Tribal Clerk

  • Tribal Enrollment - Genealogy records for Tribal purposes
  • The Tribal Clerk records, files and stores the deeds and records of Tribal Administration; Resolutions, Ordinances, and Minutes of Tribal Government

  • Elder Services Outreach Programs - Elder Services assist Elder's in maintaining an independent, healthy, and productive life by providing opportunities for services though a network of various community resources.

LUMBEE TRIBAL GOVERNMENT

Executive Branch

  • Chairman Purnell Swett; All executive powers, including implementation of and compliance with annual budgets, of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina shall reside in a Tribal Chairperson, who shall cause all laws of the Tribe to be faithfully executed.

 

Legislative Branch

 

Judicial Branch

    • The Supreme Court of the Lumbee Tribe is comprised of 5 sitting justices. The Supreme Court will hear all cases dealing with constitutional issues.
    • The Administrative Court of the Lumbee Tribe is comprised of 5 seats. The court is established to provide due process and further protect the rights of tribal members, and designed to ensure tribal members are treated equally through the administration of tribal programs. The Tribal Administrative Court will hear cases dealing with the administrative issues such as housing, enrollment, and energy assistance.
