NC Indian Conference Juried Art Show Announced
Raleigh- The 35th Annual North Carolina Indian Unity Conference is March 11–13, 2010, in Raleigh, NC, and officials of the sponsoring organization, United Tribes of North Carolina, are calling for American Indian artists to enter their work in “One Score and Fifteen” its juried art show scheduled for a two-day run March 11- 12. The upcoming conference will be held at the Hilton North Raleigh. Two-and three- dimensional works will be accepted. There is no entry fee.
United Tribes of NC Project Coordinator Jane Jacobs says the juried art show plays a vital role in drawing hundreds of attendees to the three-day annual gathering of North Carolina Indian Tribes. The two-day exhibit showcases streams of fine art produced by American Indian artists throughout North Carolina.
“The art show offers a wonderful and rare opportunity for conference attendees to see, recognize, and appreciate the beautiful art being produced by talented American Indians today. It also reaffirms UTNC’s commitment to promoting artists in tribal communities,” Jacobs comments.
As a salute to the show and the 35-year-old conference, all participating artists in this year’s juried art show will be deemed a ‘Featured Artist’ according to Barbara Braveboy-Locklear, show curator.
