 New Tribal Council Swearing In
The swearing in ceremony for the Tribal Council of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina will be held at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, January 13 at the Southeastern Agricultural Center-Farmers Market in Lumberton . The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
Three representatives retained their seats: Mrs. Sharon Hunt for District 2; Mrs. Pam Spaulding for District 3, and Mr. Shelly Strickland for District 12. Mr. Charles Bullard will represent District 5, Mr. Terry Campbell was elected to represent District 7, and Mrs. Linda Revels District 11.
The Tribal Council of the Lumbee Tribe elects one third of the Tribal Council every year in staggered terms, as outlined and required by the Lumbee Constitution. The council is made up of twenty-one sitting members who represent 14 tribal districts.
